SHIPPING DETAILS

We have designed our raised bed garden kits to ship as easily and cheaply as possible. Our goal is to minimize any excess and over-size costs that carriers apply to large, heavy packages. Depending on what you order, how much it weighs, the packaging dimensions, and your distance from Portland, Oregon the cost of shipping can vary widely. To serve all our customers fairly as possible, we are now offering the option of real-time carrier quoted shipping. If you have a specific shipping preference, please choose whichever solution presents the best overall value to you.

In some situations the size or overall weight of your order means we will need to ship your order via freight or an alternate provider than the one have you selected. In such cases, we will contact you to get your OK.

Most of our orders ship via standard ground UPS or USPS. In other cases, especially with orders containing a large number of kits going to a single address, and for special or custom orders, we will choose a regional, freight or LTL shipper. Freight shipments typically require scheduling a drop off time and obtaining your signature. You can expect freight shippers to deliver the order to your address, remove your order from the truck and leave it outside in front of your residence on a side walk or in your driveway. We know this can be inconvenient. If you require additional help with your order or have an alternate space in mind where your order can be delivered, we are happy to arrange the additional services with the freight shipper prior to your order shipping. We will not ship the order until you have approved any additional costs for specially requested services. Once an order has shipped, you are responsible for any charges related to changes in address, service level, or alternative options.

If an order is shipped to you and returned to us as undeliverable, we will automatically deduct our costs related to the unsuccessful shipment and refund you the remaining amount.

Returns & Exchanges

We do accept returns and exchanges on standard items with prior approval, although it is rarely cost-effective to initiate a return. We charge a restocking fee of up to 30% to cover our costs associated with shipping the original item to you. In addition, you are responsible for paying to have the return shipped back to us. In many cases, this reduces the value of any potential refund to less than 50 percent of the original cost of the item. Unfortunately, shipping large and heavy packages is expensive, even over short distances.

In most cases, it simply makes more sense for you to work with us to arrange an alternative solution (such as to send you an additional or replacement piece for your kit, for example) or to keep the kit and find a good use for it (donating it to a school or club fundraiser, for example, or to a local community garden). You may also find someone local via Craigslist or other website interested in purchasing the kit from you. 

We do hope to discourage you from ordering from us unless you are certain that our product is right for your situation. As part of our terms of sale, you will acknowledge that you understand the variable and unique characteristics of Juniper that make it likely at least some of the boards in your kit will have surface features (such as knots, holes, and various coloration) that aren't typical of other wood types. We don't accept returns under any circumstances of of kits damaged during assembly, including any wood with man-made holes in it from screw, nails, or other fasteners.

Thank you for understanding. Every single raised bed kit is unique and made to order. Please expect variability and only order a kit from us if you find the characteristics of Juniper to be appealing. If you are not sure, it would be best to research other options first. We may be able to accommodate special orders of kits with wood selected for specific features and pre-approved at an additional cost. If you are interested in this option, please contact us.
